Ben Shelton downs champagne and enjoys lower drinking age in Canada after Laver Cup triumph
Ben Shelton made the most of Canada's relaxed drinking laws by sinking glasses of champagne.
The 20-year-old tennis sensation was celebrating Team World's victory at the Laver Cup, a tournament where he played a central role in the 13-2 series win over Team Europe.
Shelton won his doubles match alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets against the European pair of Gael Monfils and Hubert Hurkacz.
He also saw off Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev, this time teaming up with Frances Tiafoe.
While drinking laws in the US prohibit anyone under the age of 21 from consuming alcohol, Shelton got to let his hair down with the legal age in Vancouver, Canada - where the tournament was played - being 19.
As a result, the 20-year-old was beaming as he drank champagne with his teammates and reveled in the Team World victory.

Success in the Laver Cup is just the latest accolade achieved by the youngster as he builds his reputation as one of the top young stars in tennis.
Shelton reached the quarter final of the Australian Open earlier this year, before capturing the hearts of all sports fans in America by reaching the semi-final of the US Open.
It was there that he lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets, taking him to number 19 in the ATP world rankings.
