DISCOVER: Christina Milian Drops New Music In Collaboration With DARKO On The Track "Saturday"
New music from Christina Milian is here! It’s been quite the wait but it has certainly been worth it as her collaboration with DARKO, titled “Saturday”, is one we really cannot get enough of. This follows up Christina Milian’s feature on Philly Swain’s single “Slow Down” alongside YG as well as her collaboration with Harvey on the single “Own The Night”; as for DARKO, this follows up their collaboration with Destructo & Ice-T on the single “Hustler”.
DARKO are a Los Angeles DJ project which was established in 2018. They are signed to the ADIO Music Group and have a tonne of new releases on the way including collaborations with Aliana Lohan and Tyga. They’ve come a long way in such a short space of time, proving that they belong in the music industry by releasing addicting songs. With high-profile collaborations coming up, including this one, it just shows they’re someone to keep an eye on as they continue to reach the top.
Collaborating with DARKO on this track is Christina Milian, who is a name we all should know by now. She has a tonne of ’00s hits including “Am To Pm”, and “Dip It Low” – it’s impossible to forget about them. In recent years, she has dipped in and out of music, with the release of her EP 4U, which saw an incredible collaboration with Snoop Dogg, titled “Like Me”, as well as releasing a few collaboration tracks. As well as being a singer, she hit fame in the acting world in the ’00s becoming known for her roles in the films Love Don’t Cost A Thing, Man of the House, Be Cool, and Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past; and recent TV series such as The Voice where she was the Social Media Correspondent, Grandfathered, as well as joining the second season of The Oath. She was also a contestant on the 17th season of Dancing With The Stars, where she came ninth. She also played Magenta in the recent TV movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again, which was referenced as a tribute to the original film. On top of all that, she also co-owns her own wine company named Viva Diva Wines alongside her mother/manager Carmen Milian and her publicist Robyn Santiago; as well as co-owning Beignet Box with Elizabeth Morris. We would love to see her make a full return to music as she hasn’t released an album since 2006’s So Amazin’, and her Best Of collection which was also released in the same year.
This new track is one infectious song so much so that we have to listen to it more than once. It’s so nice to hear Christina Milian’s voice again. This is totally a track for the pre-drinks playlist and will certainly get people in the mood for partying, with some incredible beats from DARKO and a subtle drop that has a lot of ’90s influence to it, by the sounds of things. The R&B tones in Christina Milian’s voice are undeniable and yet she totally delivers throughout. This is a very chilled vibe mixed with a dance track, it’s certainly one we can imagine many DJs wanting to remix. As for the lyrics, they easily relate to the feel of the song, describing the excitement people get before they go out partying.
