KSI makes IShowSpeed announcement that may impact Jake Paul's latest boxing fight

Publish date: 2024-05-05

KSI’s return to the ring will take place much sooner than expected.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is still reeling from his controversial points defeat to Tommy Fury in November, but he’s agreed to face iShowSpeed in a sparring match on December 15.

Speed - real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr - recently called out KSI after previously clashing with him at Sidemen charity football matches.

"December 15th, come through and let’s do this,” KSI wrote on social media alongside a poster promoting his fight with one of the world’s most famous streamers.

The 30-year-old's sparring match will go live on YouTube at 4am - clashing with his long-time rival, Jake Paul, who will return to the ring for the first time since beating UFC legend Nate Diaz at the very same time.

Paul is set to face unknown 10-1-1 boxer Andre August in Orlando.

‘The Problem Child’ hasn’t reacted to the news KSI will fight Speed, but two of the biggest names on YouTube fighting at the same time could be detrimental to his viewership.

Influencer boxing fans on social media were quick to pick sides.

One person tweeted: "I speak for all of us when I say we WON’T be watching the Jake Paul fight.”

Another wrote: “Yes I will not watch Jake Paul thank you for saving me Mr KSI.”

A third person said: "Nobody is watching this lil bro we are watching Jake Paul."

Someone else added: “How jealous are you of Jake Paul, that you have to create an event on the same day.”

KSI’s bitter feud with Jake dates back to 2018 when the Englishman challenged him – and his brother Logan Paul – to an amateur boxing bout.

After twice sharing the ring with Logan, KSI became friends with the internet celebrity, and together they launched an extremely successful energy drink company, PRIME.

KSI remains at odds with Jake, though, and it appears to be just a matter of time before they get in the ring to settle their differences once and for all.
